Warning: Revealing details for Episode 3 of Campaign 4 lie ahead.
The Soldiers Table Revealed
The third episode finished on a huge suspense moment and presented the first table of characters who will split off from the central cast to embark on their own adventure, distinct from the remaining groups.
The Soldiers table consists of Teor (brought to life by Travis Willingham), Thimble (Laura), Tyranny (Whitney Moore), the cleric (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie).
Dividing the Cast
Considering a large ensemble, it was evident from the start that maintaining everyone at one table would be impossible.
This explains, the first four episodes of the new season serve as an Overture, intertwining the characters’ stories before dividing into three smaller tables: Warriors, Planners, and Questers.
Characteristics of the Soldiers Table
According to Brennan Lee Mulligan, the Soldiers table is for adventurers who enjoy a typically action-packed battle-oriented narrative style where diplomatic options are scarce.
At first glance, characters like the hesitant healer Wicander might appear unsuited, but the events of the third episode make it clear why these specific adventurers are perfectly fit for the warrior group.
Why They Must Go
First, the party knows exactly where to head next after a intense initial meeting with the enemy group.
An old friend of Thjazi Fang—whose demise started the story’s plot—exploited the foes for his personal gain, invading the hidden lair, striking the rogue, and swiping all the powerful objects to dispose of.
The antagonist then paid off his obligations and fled to a fortified location in the remote area, beyond the urban center, with Cyd hot on his heels.
Personal Motivations
Moreover, each adventurer has a personal reason to exit the metropolitan area:
- The rogue, as the companion and trusted friend, desires retribution.
- The knowledgeable figure has experience in Timmony and advises that it is a dangerous place.
- The strong character and Wicander, having resisted his family’s wishes to execute the target and instead freed him, have no safe haven.
- However, their position as prominent individuals in House Halovar could enable the team reach areas they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Furthermore, Teor pledged a life debt to Wicander for his rescue and will now follow him anywhere.
Fugitives
Lastly, all of them are hunted by the powers that rule the setting for a range of causes, making staying in the city too risky:
- Thimble and The character are notorious outlaws.
- The strong figure and The cleric defied the influential house and the horde of evil beings they are allied with.
- The fighter is wanted dead by House Halovar.
This leaves them few options but to travel to the remote area in search of Casimir.
